Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon white school glue (PVA glue)
- 1/2 teaspoon borax powder
- 3 tablespoons warm water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Food coloring (any color you like)
- Disposable cup and spoon or popsicle stick for stirring
- Plastic gloves (optional, for easy cleanup)
- Zip-top bag or airtight container (for storage
Directions:
1. In a small disposable cup, measure out 1/2 teaspoon of borax powder.
2. Add 3 tablespoons of warm water to the cup with the borax powder and stir until the borax is completely dissolved. This mixture is your borax solution.
3. In a separate cup, combine 1 tablespoon of white school glue, a few drops of your chosen food coloring, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Stir until everything is well mixed and uniform in color.
4. Slowly pour the borax solution into the glue mixture. Make sure to start stirring immediately as the mixture will begin to solidify quickly.
5. Continue to stir until it becomes too thick to mix with the spoon.
6. Carefully remove the mixture from the cup and start kneading it with your hands. If you choose, wear plastic gloves to keep your hands clean.
7. Knead and roll the mixture between your palms until it achieves a smooth and elastic texture.
8. Shape the mixture into a round ball with your hands.
9. Allow the ball to sit for about 5 to 10 minutes to fully set and harden before you try to bounce it.
10. When not in use, store your bouncy ball in a sealed zip-top bag or airtight container to prevent it from drying out.
Tips & Variations:
– You can experiment with different food coloring to create unique patterned or multicolored bouncy balls.
– Adjust the amount of cornstarch to change the texture; more cornstarch will make for a firmer ball, while less will yield a softer ball.
