Make Gel Air Fresheners at Home

How to Make Gel Air Fresheners at Home
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water (divided)
- 1 packet (0.25 oz) unflavored gelatin
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 20–30 drops essential oil (lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, etc.)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Small glass jars, mason jars, or decorative containers
- Optional: dried flowers, glitter, or herbs
Directions:
Step 1:
I a small bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water. Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom.
Step 2:
While the gelatin is blooming, heat the remaining 1/2 cup of water until it is nearly boiling. Once it reaches this temperature, carefully add it to the bloomed gelatin.
Step 3:
Stir the mixture until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, stir in 1 tablespoon of salt.
Step 4:
Add 20–30 drops of your chosen essential oil to the gelatin mixture, along with food coloring if you desire a specific color. If you want to enhance your gel fresheners, you can also mix in glitter, herbs, or dried flowers.
Step 4:
Pour the mixture into your small jars or decorative containers. Allow the gel to cool and set completely at room temperature.
Step 6:
Once set, place your gel air fresheners in desired locations around your home. When the scent begins to fade, simply replace them with new ones.
Tips & Variations:
– Experiment with different essential oil blends to create personalized scents. For example, a combination of lemon and eucalyptus provides a refreshing and clean aroma.
– Try using different jars or containers to suit your decor, and consider labeling them to identify the scents easily. Dried flowers or herbs can also add a decorative touch.
