Ingredients:
- – Drinking glass or jar
- – Water
- – Canola oil, vegetable oil, or baby oil
- – Food coloring
- – Alka Seltzer tablets
- – Chunky glitter
Directions:
1. Begin by taking a drinking glass or jar and fill it two-thirds full with your choice of oil (canola, vegetable, or baby oil).
2. Carefully top off the glass or jar with water, ensuring to leave about an inch of space at the top for expansion.
3. Add a few drops of food coloring into the water. You can choose any color that appeals to you.
4. Next, sprinkle a generous amount of chunky glitter into the jar, allowing it to float on the surface of the water.
5. Break one or two Alka Seltzer tablets into smaller pieces. Drop one or two of the pieces into the jar to initiate the bubbling reaction.
6. Observe the mesmerizing effect as the water and glitter bubble up and dance around in your DIY lava lamp!
7. For an extra magical touch, place the jar on a flashlight to illuminate the colorful display and enhance the glow of your creation.
Tips & Variations:
– Experiment with different colors of food coloring and various combinations of glitter to create unique effects.
– If the bubbling slows down, simply add more pieces of Alka Seltzer to reignite the action in your glitter lava lamp.
