One of the things I protect with all my might is my reputation. I can't control what other people think of me, I can't stop people from telling lies about me, but I can make sure that if people say bad things about me, they are not backed up by my actions, but are just empty words. I can't change what I did in the past out of ignorance, but I can act with dignity and integrity now.Generally, when a man lives in a way that gives him a very bad reputation and closes many doors to him, that man is more concerned with his "image" than with who he really is. He is more concerned with looking good in the eyes of others than with what is inside him.A man who is known for his integrity, who is known as a man of his word, is richer than a man who has ruined his reputation in order to get rich. A very rich man can lose all his wealth, but a man who is known as a person of integrity will not lose this "wealth", his name will always represent a guarantee for others.
