‘For the Love of Kids — Bring Back the Reading Culture!“
We, Gen X never went anywhere without a novel or two. James Hadley Chase, Mills & Boon — books were our constant companions. Let’s inspire today’s kids to fall in love with reading too!
Here is “A Day In Limbo.” For the very young and young at heart.
A suspenseful and captivating children’s story set in Southwestern Nigeria. It follows the journey of Kọ́lá and Alàké, two young villagers who embark on a mystical adventure through the realms of Limbo, a place where forgotten memories and lost spirits dwell. The village of Ìdòkò is plagued by ancient curses and fading memories, and the young protagonists must navigate treacherous forests, face enigmatic spirits, and solve riddles to restore what has been lost.
As they journey deeper into Limbo, they encounter various mythical beings, including the Ash-Born, a forgotten hunter who has no shadow, and the Gourd of Whispers, a mystical object containing the secrets of the past. The story explores themes of memory, identity, courage, and unity as Kọ́lá and Alàké learn that their mission is not only to save their village but also to preserve the stories of their ancestors.
